Lipizzans from Topoľčianky at the equestrian fair Horse 2023 in Lysa nad Labem

From September 22 to 24, 2023, the 30th anniversary equestrian fair connected with the horse exhibition - HORSE 2023 was held at the exhibition centre in Lysa nad Labem. Visitors had the opportunity to see 120 horses of various breeds and visit more than 60 sellers of equestrian and related assortment. Of course, the event included a rich all-day program, which started at 10:00 a.m. with a breeder's presentation of individual horse breeds, continued with an afternoon program in which these individual breeds were shown in riding demonstrations, and the culmination of the day was a night show, where the high-quality lighting and sound system enhanced the impressive atmosphere. Part of this jubilee year was live music performed by a violin quartet.

Horse 2023 chose the Lipizzaner breed as the main theme. On this occasion, the National Stud of Topoľčianky š.p. accepted the invitation as the headliner of this equestrian fair. He brought 13 Lipizzaner stallions to Lysa nad Labem. Spectators could see them in the morning breeding presentations and also in the afternoon riding demonstrations, which were also an invitation to the festive evening Gala program. In the night show, the Topoľčianky National Stud presented itself in three performances. In the beginning, he performed an impressive quadrille – a choreography with own music of eight riding pairs, which requires harmonious interplay and precise meeting of all participants. Later, the audience could enjoy the mirror riding of two riders, the so-called pas de deux, accompanied by live violin quartet music. It included challenging exercises such as piaffe, passage, canter pirouettes, flying changes and there was also a Spanish walk. The end of the gala program belonged to the Classical Topoľčianky School, which performed movements above the ground such as levada, pesada, kurbeta and capriole. Sitting, lying down and bowing are always an interesting element for the audience. The tribunes filled with appreciative audiences, spot lighting of the horses and impressive music created a truly unique atmosphere.

On the occasion of the inscription of the Lipizzaner in UNESCO at the end of last year, the Topoľčianky National Stud in cooperation with Dalibor Gregor published a new book publication entitled "Lipizzans from Topoľčianky in UNESCO". The book was brought to life at the Horse 2023 fair. It can currently be purchased at the information stand directly at the National Stud in Topoľčianky or via the website www.nztopolcianky.sk
