Saint Nicholas at the Topoľčianky National Stud

Mikuláš v Národnom žrebčíne TopoľčiankyAfter a two-year break caused by restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year we welcomed Saint Nicholas and his entourage again to the premises of the Topoľčianky National Stud. Especially the little ones look forward to his arrival every year. On this occasion, an impressive program was again prepared for them.

Nature gave us almost spring weather on this day. The first visitors began to gather in the premises of the historic riding hall from three o'clock in the afternoon. As soon as they entered, the little ones were gifted with healthy treats sponsored by Agro Tami Nitra. Visitors had the opportunity to ride in carriages pulled by beautiful Lipizzaner horses and view the historic riding hall, which, with its decoration, completed the magical atmosphere of the approaching Christmas holidays.

The main program started at four o'clock in the afternoon. Angel's Tale was born under the direction of coach of the vaulting department Boris Kodak, his trainees, willing parents and riders of the National Stud. The protagonist was the Angel, who received a star from the Archangel as a gift. All the goodness of the world was hidden in it. Together they were supposed to go into the world among people and spread love, mutual understanding and noble deeds. However, the devils found out about their plan and decided to kidnap the angel and his star. They were thrown into a deep well, from which they couldn’t get out. With his desire to do good, the angel lit up a star, and its light called other stars to help, which freed them from the well.

To the sounds of impressive music and light effects, the audience could watch the performances of the Lipizzaners and their riders, including a vaulting demonstration. The musical accompaniment was performed by pianist Tomáš Hodál, singer Eleonóra Kovalik and Boris Kodak. The whole story was enhanced by rich costumes that gave the performance the right fairy-tale atmosphere. At the end, a beautiful carriage pulled by white Lipizzaners could not be missing, which brought Saint Nicholas himself and his entourage. He richly rewarded all the children, younger and older.

We believe that those who came to see, left satisfied, and those who didn't come, will do so next year. It's definitely worth it!

On behalf of the National Stud, we wish all horse lovers a peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year.
